6x6 Design, LLC was formed in 2007, however John Kelly, president and owner, has been creating and search marketing small business websites since 2003. 6x6 Design stands for six design fundamentals combined with six search optimization and marketing fundamentals.
John Kelly's experience with website design began with an interest in his wife's business. She had a website already for her business but it didn't justify it's expense or bring new business. John, already experienced in several computer applications and programs since 1982, an instructor for retail customer service and management training, became curious about how he could improve upon her existing website. His goal was to get it found on page one of the organic (free) search engine results.
Two years later after his wife's client base grew over 400/ from her new website, John found himself passionate and fully engrossed in search engine marketing and website design fundamentals. To this day he continues to put himself through modern web design and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) courses and tutorials and reads everything he can. John's discovery along the way taught him building websites correctly using basic and advanced fundamentals is not commonly practiced in the website industry. The mainstream website industry is focused mainly on speed of development and presentation instead of focusing on what search engines and people want which is quality content.
So there it is -- the niche that made John's business philosophy successful and the inspiration for the name of his business. It wasn't until John had quite a few current small businesses praising his website design and search marketing services and encouraged him to go into business for himself.
