Website Design for Small Business

A low cost, professionally designed, easily searched website is certainly well within your grasp and 6x6 Design can help you achieve it. Maybe you already have a website in need of some help. We can evaluate and suggest solutions to repair your existing site too.

6x6 Design builds websites mostly for small and medium sized businesses and other organizations. Because search engine marketing is the focus of every business website we design, we prefer to build the website's code mostly by hand. Experience has taught us hand-coding a website is absolutely essential since it allows us to be unique, flexible, and have precise control to separate your website from the millions of cookie-cutter websites you see online.

Websites Designed to Perform

Much like an artist's approach, every website is crafted to be unique. However, much of our art isn't seen by the website visitor. It's visible behind the scenes, in the website's code. Instead, our art is highly visible to search engines. After all, what good is a beautiful website if it can't be found? Our goal is to get your small business website found more easily in organic (free) search engine results for your selected search words.

The Next Step

6x6 Design will conduct an interview with you to learn more about your product or service and website goals. Then we'll develop a design plan and estimate to build or enhance a low cost but highly effective marketing tool - your website - that will work for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, locally, regionally, nationally, or world-wide.

Types of Websites 6x6 Design Builds

Below are common website types we offer, however we can also mix and match virtually anything to meet your website needs. You will also find more information about website services pricing, options and features on our fees page or the FAQ page.

Common Website Features and Options

This is a general list of website features and options available to you. For pricing, visit the website services pricing, options and features page for details. If there is something you do not see listed here but wish to have, be sure to contact us and we'll let you know if it can be done.

Informational Websites

Informational websites are the most common choice for many small businesses and organizations looking for an effective, long-lasting online presence. The more quality content provided on your website, the more trusted your website is perceived to be by search engines. Informational websites usually contain 5 to 20 pages or more. Take a look at our website prices page for more information about website plans, features, options and pricing.

Dynamic Websites

If you are looking for more interaction on your website or having a database to collect information, a dynamic website is a logical choice. A dynamic website can be incorporated into an informational website also. Blogs, short for web logs, and forums are used both personally and commercially as a type of online journal. Blogs and forums are known for their ease of use, easy content creation, content archiving, and content syndication. The only minor downside of a blog, and especially a forum, is they both require a moderator or administrator to "police" the site against spamming and unwanted posts.

eCommerce Websites

An eCommerce website is basically an online store to sell products or even services. You can add multiple categories, upload images, have PayPal or another secured merchant account payment gateway, a newsletter sign up, and more. Visit our 6x6 Design Demo eCommerce Store powered by CubeCart™ to see a live demonstration of an eCommerce website. Please note our demo store is a stripped down version with little styling or content. Your store is completely customizable and can be designed to match your website theme and have multiple pages, categories and sale items.

This store is a simple demonstration of how a typical eCommerce store operates. To make a "demo" purchase of the three pieces of fruit we're selling, use demo@yoursite.com as the login and demo for the password to check out. You cannot actually buy anything at our demo store, but you can go through checkout process to learn how it works. If you wish to login to see the administration control panel side of the store where you add items, put items on sale, mark inventory, etc., contact us to set up a personalized tour.

Content Management System Websites, or CMS

Content management systems allow a website owner or other designated administrator to make changes to web page content or images, add news announcements, etc. all without needing to know HTML, CSS or FTP. CMS websites have an administration panel to log into where the administrator has full control of the web content. Changes to content are made in a WYSIWYG editor (what you see is what you get) so changes are simple as using a word processor. If you are interested in a CMS website and would like a live demonstration, contact 6x6 Design for more information.
